We spoke to Chris about his love for dentistry and his reasons for specialising in implants.
“I’ve worked in dentistry for over 30 years, and I’m still amazed at the life changing difference that corrective dentistry can make to a client’s wellbeing. Poor dental function and appearance can have a really detrimental impact. I’ve treated clients who have never had the confidence to smile properly, and it’s an absolute joy when they come back to the clinic after treatment and are grinning from ear to ear.”
Chris explains how he became passionate about dental implants
"After my training and first few years of dental practice, specialising in implantology seemed like the natural progression for me as a dentist. Not only did it allow me to operate at the cutting edge of dentistry, it also meant I was able work with the latest innovative technology, something I’m very passionate about. Throughout my career I’ve wanted to continue learning and developing so that I’m able to provide all my patients with the very best possible care and advice. I’ve also always loved the challenges that dentistry poses and the new techniques and technologies that are introduced in order to meet them...
...In 2004, I made the decision to specialise and two years later I graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in London with my Advanced Diploma in Implant Dentistry, launching the second phase of my career, as an implant surgeon." Dr Chris Wood
Chris was one of the first dentists to qualify with the Diploma, and has gone on to work both in dental practices within the UK and overseas, placing over 4,000 implants with a staggering success rate of 99%.
In 2019 Chris founded his own practice, Audley Dental Solutions in Stratton Audley, Oxfordshire. Chris wanted the practice to reflect his high standards of care, which is why the practice is located in the gorgeous village of Stratton Audley, just off the M40, near Bicester Oxfordshire, with plenty of parking. Set in a refurbished barn, the practice is modern, light and airy with a relaxing atmosphere from the moment you walk inside.
